Locker Room: A teamwear platform built for scale

At its core, sport is about identity, belonging, and ambition, and the kit a team wears is a powerful expression of all three. adidas set out to transform the way sports teams design and order custom kit, to create a digital experience that gives teams space to dream big and craft their own identities. To realise this vision, Big Motive partnered with adidas and DesignThinkers to create Locker Room: a collaborative, inclusive, and intuitive e-commerce platform that makes the process of creating custom team wear as inspiring as the game itself.

A fresh take on designing teamwear

Our goal was to reimagine the teamwear journey from the inside out. What should have been a moment of pride and creativity, designing a kit that represents your team, felt fragmented and complex. Listening to customers, from parents coaching kids in Belfast to senior team managers in Bogotá, helped us uncover insights that became the foundation for a more seamless, human-centred experience that carries teams from first spark of inspiration through to unboxing their new kit.

Designing for flexibility, across the globe

Through cross-continental sprints and iterative prototyping, we co-created a human-centred platform that supports team co-creation, fast approvals, and seamless ordering. Locker Room adapts to regional workflows while maintaining adidas’ brand integrity, proving that global platforms can still feel personal.

A scalable platform for brand and team identity.

Today, Locker Room powers adidas’ global team wear strategy. It shortens lead times, offers an exceptional customer experience, and helps teams, from grassroots to pro, express their identity. More than a tool, it’s a strategic digital product that delivers and extends brand value from adidas to each and every team wearing their kit with joy.
